Summary

Clarendon Rocks are the remains of a late seventeenth century pier. The pier is visible as a submerged structure on aerial photographs of 1940 and 1969 extending to the east from Mudeford Spit.

Full Description

Clarendon rocks are the remains of the Earl of Clarendon's Quay, c. 1664, at Hengistbury Head / Mudeford Spit.(1)
The 17th century pier described above in (1) is visible as a submerged structure on aerial photographs of 1940 and 1969 extending to the east from Mudeford Spit for a distance of approximately 205 m.
