Higher Mill, shown on the Ordnance Survey map of 1885.(1)

This 19th century mill is at the bottom of a steep valley, on the eastern bank of a stream. The buildng is of 3 storeys plus an attic, with 7 bays, it has a central door and a slate roof. The mill has been converted to flats, the fenstration replaced, and the walls rendered. The waterwheel, appears to have been on the east end of the building but little evidence of this remains. To the northwest is a old single storey outbuilding of rubble and brick. <3>
