Monument record MWX4293 - Isolation Hospital, Hospital Island, Baiter, Poole

A nineteenth century infectious diseases hospital on an island called Hospital Island at Baiter, known from Ordnance Survey map evidence and visible on aerial photographs taken in 1945. It went out of use in about 1936.

It closed in about 1936.

The site of the infectious diseases hospital is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1945. (4) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
