Summary

The Shipwrights Arms, of two storeys with cellars and attics and the a verge of stone slates to the roof, was built in the early 18th century on an L shaped plan. The door ways have modern surrounds with pediments in an 18th century style; the windows have segmental heads. Now demolished.

Full Description

A passage or ferry house on Hamworthy Quay marked on a c. 1790 map, serving the ferry across the channel between Poole and Hamworthy. (1)

By 1841 it is a public house known as the Shipwrigh't Arms as shown on an 1841 map of Poole. (2) It is also shown on the Ordnance Survey 25-inch map epochs 1-4. (3) (4) (5) (6)
