Full Description

Possible Slit Trenches, cut either side of track. Seen on 2002 AP. (1)

A series of north-south orientated linear banks and ditches are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs (2-3) and Lidar imagery (4) of Bindon Hill. It has been suggested that these could be the remains of slit trenches associated with Second World War activities in this area (see above), however they are possibly butts relating to a rifle range. These features were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
