Monument record MWX4120 - Post medieval gravel pit, Holme Lane Plantation, East Holme

A gravel pit is shown on the Ordnance Survey maps of 1885 and 1900, located within Holme Lane Plantation, East Holme. A pit is still visible here as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken in 1946.

A pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Holme Lane Plantation, East Holme taken in 1946 (3). It is considered likely to be the remains of the post medieval gravel pit described above. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
