A gravel pit marked on the first edition OS map (1). Also marked on the second edition map (2)
A pit is visible as an earthwork on Lidar imagery of New Mills Heath, Corfe Castle (3). It is considered likely to be the remains of the post medieval gravel pit described above. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
