An old quarry shaft marked on the first edition OS map (1) Also marked on the second edition map (2)

The quarry shaft described above in (1-2) is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946. The shaft is sub-circular and measures approximately 12 m in diameter. (3) It is located within an area of quarrying and spoil heaps (see parent record). This site was digitally plotted during the South west Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
