Old chalk pits marked on the first edition OS map (1) Also marked on the second edition (2)
The two chalk pits described above in (1-2) are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1962. The two pits measure approximately 60 m by 20 m and 22 m in diameter. (3) These features were digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
