A chalk pit marked on the first edition OS map, by the Roman Temple at Jordan (1) also marked on the second edition (2)

The site of the chalk pit with associated spoil is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs {3}. The features were digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
