Monument record MWX3794 - Late prehistoric defensive earthwork, Worgret Heath, Arne

A linear bank and ditched feature is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and Liday imagery of Worgret Heath, Arne. It is considered likely to be the remains of a late prehistoric defensive earthwork. Recent comprehensive aerial images indicate that this earthwork has been partially disturbed by sand and gravel extraction and truncated by a road.

A linear bank and ditched feature is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs (2-4) and Lidar imagery (5) of Worgret Heath, Arne. It is considered likely to be the remains of a late prehistoric defensive earthwork. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. Recent comprehensive aerial images indicate that this earthwork has been partially disturbed by sand and gravel extraction and truncated by a road.
