Full Description
Holes dug in the Quay by the Frome by contractors in 1974 revealed what appeared to be made up ground. This is evidence the Quay is a post-Saxon encroachment on the riverside and the original shoreline was on the edge of the gravel terrace behind or beneath the houses ono the north side of the Quay (1)
