Full Description

Sub surface features and pottery identified during excavations for the Wareham to Stoborough water pipeline. With the exception of three sherds all the Romano-British pottery was found at the northern-most end of the pipeline. Sub surface features included a possible boundary ditch dated to the Late Iron Age. Small amounts of medieval and later material were recovered from various areas along the pipeline. Low quantities of worked flint were also recovered and a number of post-medieval unstratified finds were retrieved. Area disturbed by a modern Army camp (1)
