Number of earthworks visible on the site, remnants of lawn sheds which divided open fields of Portland. Dry stone wall also identified.

Full Description

Series of low linear, parallel banks, c. 1-2m wide and c. 0.3m high, oriented NE/SW in northern part of site, spaced c. 10-14m apart. Remnants of lawn sheds which divided open fields of Portland. Composed entirely of topsoil. Remains of a drystone wall running parallel to the lawn sheds identified in the eastern part of site. This wall is about 1.1m wide and comprised rough facing of larger stones with a smaller stone rubble core. Possibly another wall running eastwards at right angles but visible more as an earthwork (1)
