Full Description

Trial trenches revealed series of gullies, ditches and postholes with a date range potentially spanning the 1st millennium BC and the first years of the 1st century AD, confined to southern part of site. Discovery of Neolithic, Roman, Medieval and post Medieval pottery suggests occupation also in earlier and later periods. Other finds included iron nail, fired clay, worked flint, stone and animal bone. Infilled area in eastern part of site believed to represent early meander of River Jordan
