Full Description

Excavation recorded no in situ structures or features of pre-modern date. However, quantities of limestone were recorded across the site, mostly in re-used contexts incorporated into the structure of later walls. Some of this material was worked. It was thought to derive from Medieval buildings such as The Priory, demolished in the 1860's. Quantities of Medieval pottery were also recovered.
Small quantities of post-Medieval pottery were recovered. (1)
