Sand Pit on Brownsea Island, and shown on Taylor's map of 1770 (1)

Sand pits are shown on Isaac Taylor’s map of 1770 (DCRO photocopy 1/1) and on the 1853 map (D263/T1). The site lies on a cliff slope and was not discernable when the site was visited. Visited 2/3/1988.
