The remains of limestone quarries are visible across the west facing slope of Seacombe Bottom 300m south-east of Eastington Farm. The disused quarry working occupy an area of approximately 300m from north to south and 150m east to west. The name of this area in 1775 (Woodward) was Great Eweleaze but none of the quarries mentioned in the three sets of accounts surviving within the Bankes Archive (1725-6, 1771-2, 1809-11) mention quarries in this land area. The quarries were no longer in use by 1891 the publication date of the first detailed O.S. map.
