Full Description

<1> Papworth M, 1994, Eastington, Acton, Westwood, Wilkswood, New Barn, Corfe Castle Estate, Wessex Region, 112,346 (Unpublished document). SWX1388.

In Autumn 1987 the field immediately north of ‘Sea Spray’ cottage was ploughed and revealed a scatter of flints across this and the next field north. All flint had been brought to the field as it does not outcrop on the Purbeck limestone plateau. Each flint had been worked and several scrapers were recovered. The scatter concentrated on an area 150m diameter. The flints may indicate the site of a Neolithic and/or Bronze Age settlement.
