Several flint flakes were found on 09/02/1988 eroding from the cliff edge of Wealden Clay S. of Ballard Down and indicate prehistoric activity in the area. The area is close to the spring line utilized by Whitecliff farm house and a good location for settlement. The cliff section was examined but no traces of occupation features were noted.
