‘Trench 4 … A linear feature, a shallow ditch, was noted in plan 1.20m from the south end of the trench. The ditch (F14) crossed the trench slightly obliquely NW-SE and was U-shaped in profile, with the south edge being more abrupt than the north edge. It had a maximum width of 0.90m, a maximum depth of 0.40m and was filled with a dark black-brown silty sand with rare chert and flint fragments, context (13). No dating evidence was recovered, and it was not possible to establish from where the ditch had been cut in the depositional sequence. The ditch was not present in Trench 1.’
