Full Description

A mound approximately 93 feet long by 16 1/2 feet high and 1 1/2 feet wide is situated 350 yards ESE of the summit of Thorncombe Beacon. It shows traces of a surrounding ditch and is apparently a pillow mound. <1>

SY 43869142 to SY 43899145. This feature consists of an earthen turf covered mound 340 metres long by 5.0 metres wide, averaging 0.4 metre high and aligned NE-SW. It has ditches on its NW and SE sides which average 2.0 metres in width by 0.3 metre deep and merge with the bank at its extremities. There are no other similar features in the area. Surveyed at 1:2500. <2>
