Maritime record MWX2279 - Diligent

Dragged three anchors to go ashore. (1)(2) `...a brig belonging to this place from Trapani with a cargo of salt parted three cables as she was riding at anchor in Studland Bay and was driven into the harbour. She received so much damage by striking several times on the sands as she came in that they were obliged to run her on shore on Brownsea, having three feet of water in her hold. (3) `The DILIGENT, Akerman, from Trapani to Poole, drove from her anchors in Studwell [sic] Bay, and got ashore with three feet water in her hold.
