`For sale: Twenty pipes of port wine - part of the cargo of the ship URANIA lately stranded near Poole. (1) `The URANIA, Wessels, from Oporto to Hull, was driven on shore on the Hook Sand, near Poole, on Wednesday, and has five feet water in her hold. The cargo, consisting of 344 pipes, and 40 hogsheads of wine, expected to be saved. (2) Master: Wessels Date of Loss Qualifier: A
The building date for this vessel is an estimate based on an average age at wrecking of twenty years. This average is derived from those vessels wrecked on the Dorset coast whose age at wrecking is known.
