`The PROVIDENCE, Davis, from Liverpool for Pool, is ashore on the Hook Sands near Pool, and it is feared will be lost. (2)(4) `Poole February 25th: The PROVIDENCE, Davis, bound from Liverpool to this port with a cargo of coals this morning ran on shore on the Hook Sands near the mouth of this harbour. She lies in a very perilous situation and it is apprehended that neither the vessel nor any part of her cargo will be saved. (5) `The PROVIDENCE, Davis, from Liverpool, that was on shore near Pool, is got off with little damage, and gone into that harbour.
