Summary

The site of a former open ropewalk is marked on the 1888 Ordnance Survey 1:500 map, running E-W to the south of West Allington. It probably belonged the firm of Rendall & Coombs.

Full Description

The 1888 Ordnance Survey 1:500 map shows what is probably a former open ropewalk running E-W to the south of West Allington. A single post is marked at the west end and three posts marked winch at the east end (1). The rope walk is not on the 1840 Allington Tithe Map and Apportionment. This ropewalk lay within the property of Rendall & Coombs.
