Full Description
The site of a ropewalk with turn house at west end, identified from the 1888 Ordnance Survey 1:500 map. <1>
It lies to the rear of Stover Place. This appears to be one of the earlier rope walks in the St Michael's area. The 1845 Bridport Tithe Map apportionment describes the plot as House and Spinning Path, owned by Ann Powell and occupied by George Richards <2>. The area of the rope walk was later part of the Stover Place Works.
