Full Description

24-JUL-1987 Wreck of 30ft long landing craft in Decca (SW Brit) red G 1.81, purple G 56.85. NCA yet. Await confirmation.
28-NOV-1990 Examined in 50 35.37.8N 002 20.25.2W. Least echo sounder depth 18.5 in general depth 21.2m. Height 3.6m. No scour. Length 16m, width 5m. Intact lying 150/330 degrees. (1)

One of a group of landing craft records within an area 200m x 200m. May all refer to same wreck. Landing craft ‘Bi’ pref ref 1215, Landing craft ‘Bii’ pref ref 1216, Landing craft ‘D’ pref ref 1218

Located in 50 35.66N; 02 20.44W. Almost 2 miles south-west of the high chalk cliff of White Nothe, at a depth of 21m, is the complete wreck of a Second World War landing craft. Diffocult to find and lying on a rather muddy seabed, this wreck is only occasionally visited by divers. (2)

21-JUN-1994: Dived in listed position. More likely to be a barge with dimensions 52 x 16 x 3 ft.

20-JUN-2008: Examined in 5035.668N, 0220.503W [WGD] using DGPS. The least multibeam depth was 19.34m in a general depth of 21.2m. No scour. Length 11.2m. Width 3.91m. Height 2.1m. Orientation 160/340 degrees with bows to the north-west. Appears largely broken up. (3)(4)
