Full Description

`The coastguard galley, manned by Lieut. Smith RN, and seven men, saved the eight crew of this lugger. (1)(4) `Swanage 28th Nov: A French lugger, laden with wine, is totally wrecked to the west of St. Albans Head; part of the cargo saved. (5) `Swanage 30th Nov: The JOSEPH DESIREE, Boven, from Bordeaux to Rouen, was wrecked in Kemridge (sic) Bay 28th instant; crew saved by the coastguard.
