Full Description

`...overset in the Saint Albans Race, drove ashore bottom up. Twelve hogsheads and five pipes of oil were saved. A Mr Ratts Bayley got one pipe and four hogsheads, but these were taken from him by force. The wine the country people drank, the fruit being carried away. A John Hooper drowned, and that Larry was drunk was occasion for their being lost. (1)(2) This vessel may be identifiable with the SALLY (MWX2158), lost on the same date in the same area, and whose masters name was Lurvy. The building date for this vessel is an estimate based on an average age at wrecking of twenty years. This average is derived from those vessels wrecked on the Dorset coast whose age at wrecking is known.
