(2) `The KING OF PRUSSIA, Long, from Bordeaux for Hamburg, is ashore off Kimmeridge, but part of the cargo will be saved. And, near the same place, a sloop with brandy is lost, and 3 men drowned. (3) Source (4) interpolates the following details from the sloop lost at the same time in the same place: vessel type, sloop; cargo, brandy; and number of crew lost. The building date for this vessel is an estimate based on an average age at wrecking of twenty years. This average is derived from those vessels wrecked on the Dorset coast whose age at wrecking is known.
