Summary

The wreck of the LILY, a British Sixth Rate Ship of the Line, which was reported stranded in September 1653 at Weymouth Bay, after she fell into difficulties as a result of stormy weather conditions. She is believed to have had between 10 and 12 cannon. Constructed of wood, she was a sailing vessel.

Master: Captain Isalas Blowfield Year Purchased: 1642 Armament: 12 cannon (2) Armament: 10 cannon. (4) Date of Loss Qualifier: R Driven ashore and wrecked in Weymouth Bay during a storm. Had entered Royal Navy service in 1642 as a purchased ship. (2) LILY 10 gun ship 110 tons beam purchased 1642 and wrecked SEP-1653 (4)
