Full Description

The wreck was blown ashore near Preston on a ledge, and a watch was presented by the Mayor and residents of Weymouth to John Mantle for his attempts to save life at the wreck, the watch now being on display in Weymouth Museum. The hull of the wreck was sold for £15.4s.9d. (1)(3) `The following vessels were driven on shore in West Bay last night during a heavy gale from S to SW...The LOUISA, from Hambro to St. Ubes, high and dry on the beach; crew saved.
