Full Description

`Vessel was seen by the Coastguard to sink, having painted gunports, and having lost her mainmast, her foremast broken at the top. (1)(3) `A large brig, with painted ports, mast gone close to the deck, and foremast gone below the top, was seen to go down yesterday, to the eastward of the Shambles... Date of Loss Qualifier: A. (4)

The building date for this vessel is an estimate based on an average age at wrecking of twenty years. This average is derived from those vessels wrecked on the Dorset coast whose age at wrecking is known.
