Year Built: 1849 Crew: 7 Crew Lost: 2 Master: R. Burgoyne Owner: W. Burgoyne Date of Loss Qualifier: A ` - William Flann, a Coastguard man, saved four from the wreck by climbing onto the rocks and helping them ashore, for which he received an RNLI. award. (1)(2) 15-FEB-1850, VENUS of Teignmouth, a brig of 190 tons and a crew of 7 from Teignmouth to London with a cargo of pipe clay was wrecked on Blackner rocks, Weymouth in a SW 6.
