`Weymouth, 25th Nov: We have experienced one of the severest hurricanes that ever visited this coast...The WASSTER NORLAND, from London to Gibraltar, is now riding by two anchors, totally de-masted, within 20 yards of the rocks close to Chesil Cove; six men have been taken out of her; the captain, mate, and two men refused to quit the vessel, although she was expected to go to pieces every minute...Bridport, 24th Nov:...a ship or brig was seen riding at anchor off Fleet de-masted.
