Full Description

The Alert was built in 1859 at Pembroke. Her Master was William Rawson (1)(3); Rosen (4) She had a crew of 4. (3) Her Official nos.: 21,666 Lloyds Classification: A1(5)

She was lost `....in beating out of the bay, missed stays...and was driven on the east side of the breakwater, where she speedily became a wreck. The master and crew were saved. (2) `Weymouth, 15th Feb: The ALERT (schooner) of Milford, Rosen...struck the breakwater in going out last night, and sank; crew saved. (4) 14-FEB-1860, ALERT, from Portland to Bridport in ballast struck Portland breakwater.(5)
