Full Description

Ex-FAISAN. A captured French vessel, taken by the ALBANY in April 1761. (4) `A vessel is lost off Weymouth, supposed to be the PHEASANT man of war. (3) Supposed to have foundered in the Channel. (5) Missing, presumed foundered, on or about this date [10-OCT-1761] in a storm in the English Channel. (6) Source (6) has the date of loss as 10th October 1761, and the tonnage as 292 tons.
