Full Description
Ex-FAISAN. A captured French vessel, taken by the ALBANY in April 1761. (4) `A vessel is lost off Weymouth, supposed to be the PHEASANT man of war. (3) Supposed to have foundered in the Channel. (5) Missing, presumed foundered, on or about this date [10-OCT-1761] in a storm in the English Channel. (6) Source (6) has the date of loss as 10th October 1761, and the tonnage as 292 tons. Commanding Officer: Commander Thomas Neilson RN (6) Crew: 125 - usual complement (5) Owner: Royal Navy Armament: 14 x 6pdr cannon (4)(5) + 10 swivels (5) Date of Loss Qualifier: A
