Full Description

Site of a former open ropewalk on the east side of South Street, south of Church Lane depicted on the 1890 Ordnance Survey map (1). The ropewalk is not marked on the 1902 and 1930 Ordnance Survey maps, so presumably it had become disused by the start of the 20th century (2) (3).

Site of 19th century Rope Walk, disused by 1902. The ropewalk ran east-west, to the south of Church Lane. <4>
