The wreck lies in a general depth of 46m (1) Construction: 2 masts. (2)

She was scuttled in connection with the production of a film `Q-Ships in 46m. Wreck appears to be lying on one side. (1 & 2). Her position was recorded as 50 29 00N 002 18 30W 2 miles SSE from Shambles light vessel, and later as 50 27 15N, 002 30 18W. AMY sank 4.2 miles 208 degrees from Portland Bill lighthouse.(1)

16-JUN-1952: Wire drift sweep; clear at 21 fathoms, foul at 22 fathoms. Least echo sounder 23 fathoms general depth 25 fathoms. Extends for 100 feet with the shallowest part in the centre. Position 50 26 28N, 02 31 12W.(1)

26-JAN-1983: Wreck shown in decca; conversion 50 26 23N, 02 31 10W. Small ship, little definite shape. Possibly on its side. (1)

A wooden sheaving block recovered from this wreck off Portland Bill. (Droit A/858). (3)

02-DEC-2003: Not investigated. Lies in area of static fishing gear. (8)

The building date for this vessel is an estimate based on an average age at wrecking of twenty years. This average is derived from those vessels wrecked on the Dorset coast whose age at wrecking is known.

Possible remains of 1928 wreck of British schooner which foundered 2 miles SSE of the Shambles Lightvessel following an explosion, having been scuttled for the purposes of making the film "Q-Ships". If the AMY, she was constructed of wood and was a sailing vessel.
