Full Description
The EFFORT, Thomas, of and for Sunderland, from Topsham, was driven on shore on Portland Beach during a violent gale on Monday. The crew and materials saved. (2) Wind conditions at Deal on the 13th given as `W, blows very strong. (3)

The building date for this vessel is an estimate based on an average age at wrecking of twenty years. This average is derived from those vessels wrecked on the Dorset coast whose age at wrecking is known.
