Maritime record MWX1662 - Unidentified 1852 a Brig

`A brig, under a close-reefed topsail, was seen to founder in the Race of Portland yesterday, and it is feared the crew were drowned. Crew Lost: All Date of Loss Qualifier: A (1-4)

The building date for this vessel is an estimate based on an average age at wrecking of twenty years. This average is derived from those vessels wrecked on the Dorset coast whose age at wrecking is known.
