Full Description

Struck submerged wreckage 9 miles west of Portland Bill and sank. Crew took to their boat, rowing 7 miles in fog and rain before being picked up by a Portland fisherman and taken into Portland. (2)

Horizontal Datum: OGB Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: SWS General Depth: 42 metres Method of Fix: SYL The INISINVER sank after striking a submerged obstruction. Sank in 50 29 06N, 02 35 12W, approx. 11-SEP-1930 Area swept but no trace of wreckage found. 01-JAN-1945 Contact reported in vicinity of position 50 29 42N, 02 34 18W. 23-JUN-1952 Wire drift sweep. Clear at 20, foul at 21 fathoms. Least echo sounder depth 123 FEET IN GENERAL DEPTH 22 fathoms. Very difficult to locate and hard to hold during approach. It appears to be a small wreck and covers an area of around 100ft diameter. 26-JAN-1983 Wreck shown in decca; conversion 50 29 16N, 02 35 09W. 20-JUL-1984 Navigational co-ordinates 35 84 60E, 65 73 5N obtained. Swept clear at 36.0, Foul at 36.7M. Least echo sounder depth 37.9 in general depth 42m. Scour 2m deep. About 40m in length. Lies NE/SW.(4)
