Work by the NAS during 2004 has suggested that the wreck known as the 'Unknown Coaster' is the Cragside. The word 'Newcastle' can be read on the stern and the Cragside is the only ship known to have been wrecked in the area which was registered in Newcastle. The dimensions of the wreck also fit those of the Cragside. It lies on Portland Breakwater at 50 34.93N 2 24.84W
