Full Description

Attacked by gunfire from an unidentified submarine which appeared about one mile distant at 2pm. The sailing vessel hove to and was abandoned by her crew, the enemy then boarding her, taking off food and paraffin oil, before placing scuttling charges and sinking her. The survivors were picked up by a patrol vessel and landed at Weymouth. The ships confidential papers and log book went down in the cabin of the wreck.
