Maritime record MWX1558 - Endeavour 1789

Master: Cawley Date of Loss Qualifier: R `The ENDEAVOUR, Cawley, from Sidmouth to Newcastle, is ashore near Bridport; the crew with difficulty saved. (2) In AUG-1789, the brig ENDEAVOUR left the beach at SIDMOUTH, bound light for NEWCASTLE to fetch another cargo of coal, but was thrown ashore in the storms near Bridport, the crew were saved.(4)

The building date for this vessel is an estimate based on an average age at wrecking of twenty years. This average is derived from those vessels wrecked on the Dorset coast whose age at wrecking is known.
