Full Description

`Lyme, Nov.24th: On Monday night a most dreadful gale commenced from the SW. Yesterday morning it continued with unabated fury; the tide being unusually high and a tremendous sea, the walls of the harbour began to give way, which falling on the moorings of the vessels, chased them off, by which means every vessel and boat was carried out of the harbour. The MARY AND ELIZABETH, Guernsey Trader, on shore between here and Charmouth; crew saved; cargo discharging. (1) Cargo consisted of sailcloth. (4) Master: Camplin Date of Loss Qualifier: A
