Full Description

Lyme November 26th: ...a larger trawler, the CAROLINE, Fowler, broke away and was driven to the mouth of the river which runs through the town, where she was destroyed in a few minutes by the tremendous breakers. (2)

The building date for this vessel is an estimate based on an average age at wrecking of twenty years. This average is derived from those vessels wrecked on the Dorset coast whose age at wrecking is known.
