Maritime record MWX1527 - Elizabeth and Ann

Four vessels drifted out of The Cobb. They were the SPECK, brigantine, and the PANDA , schooner, both belonging to Mr. Walker; The VULCAN, schooner, belonging to Mr. Fowler, and the ANN AND EMILY, schooner, owned by Messrs. Osborne and England. The ELIZABETH and ANN, belonging to Mr. Dixon, remains sunk in the Cobb with her stern knocked away. Some of the vessels were partly laden with coal, the greater part of which will be lost. The shores, which are strewn with the wreck, were visited by hundreds of people during the day. The building date for this vessel is an estimate based on an average age at wrecking of twenty years. This average is derived from those vessels wrecked on the Dorset coast whose age at wrecking is known.
