Full Description

Type 22 pillbox forming one component of a line of 31 x anti-tank blocks [see MWX1325]. Scheduled monument - pillbox and tank traps to N of Christchurch in former railway yard.

Type 22 pillbox between anti-tank cubes nos 27 and 28 at the NE end of the line. Near the Fairmile Road (B3073) and the railway, W of the River Avon.<1-3>

This pill box forms part of the Christchurch 'anti-tank island'. Constructed from concrete, polygonal in plan and facing east. This pillbox was located west of the railway bridge over the River Avon on the north side of the railway. <4>
